Florida is located in the southeastern United States and most of The Sunshine State is a large peninsula with the Gulf of Mexico on its west and the Atlantic Ocean on its east. The capital is Tallahassee, the biggest city is Jacksonville but the largest metropolitan area and a major cultural center of the state is Miami.
Florida, of course, is known for many things: the Everglades; the sun, sand, and surf that make up Florida’s 1500 kilometers of beaches; the Florida Keys; South Beach, the trendiest place in the world at the moment; and Disney World. But there is much more to be discovered.
